Slay the Devil
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Made for the Metroidvania Month 20 game jam.
A sidescrolling metroidvania that takes some inspiration from Dark Souls. You are a knight who must travel to the deepest pits of hell to slay evil.
Story-wise the game is unfinished. Its missing a final-final boss as well as a beginning dialogue sequence where you get tasked with your holy mission.
Controls
- W & D to move
- Space to jump
- R to heal
- M1 to attack
- S to drop below platform
- E to interact with campfire/NPCs

The artwork, music, and code are all mine. SFX are a combination of my own recordings as well as mixes made from in part royalty free SFX.
Voice acting for "Scardy Knight" comes from TDW.

Hm, not sure if I have explored everything. but only places left for me are at hells entrance.
left there, where you need double jump, the camera jsut doesnt feel like following me, so no idea what is to the left there.
and there is also an area above which you cant reahc from here :-/
aside that I have esplored pretty much everything else I think
game is pretty fun so i decided to speedrun it, here is my best time

The soulslike feeling is evident, I had a lot of fun, the pixelart and art style goes with the game and the mechanics are simple but functional.
after i defeated the demon with the sword he glitched and respawn plus the map crashes after you defeat him but that must be something to say the game is over but overall it's pretty good.
I recommend opening a donation option ;)
